Ballance is a 3D video game developed by German studio Cyparade, published by Atari and released in 2004.

In Ballance, players need to manipulate a ball of which the physical properties can be transformed to travel through large and complex maze buildings built in high altitude or space, avoid traps and solve puzzles, and finally reach the end 飞船 to complete a level. The game provides 13 关卡 that are roughly increasing in difficulty for players to explore (level 13 is downloadable content, but existing installation packages generally include level 13), and set a score system to attract players to challenge to more Complete the level at a high level to get better results. In addition, it is equipped with a very reductive, real physics engine that makes the ball's manipulation feel very close to the cognition in real life, so it greatly improves the playability of the game, and players can fully experience the effect of gravity on balance.

Ballance comes with 5 languages by default, including German, French, English, Spanish, and Italian. But Ballance吧 has produced a version of the game with Chinese language patches, which is Ballance中文版.

Hardware and software configuration requirements

Ballance, like other Games, requires a certain level of performance from the player's computer to work. But because it was released so long ago, most computers today can run it.

The requirements for the Computer configuration can be found in the documentation included with the original Ballance installation file, which is excerpted here for your reference only:

Hardware / software Minimum requirement Recommendation Requirement
Ram 64 MB 128 MB
Hard disk space 150 MB More than 150 MB
CPU 350 MHz Intel Pentium II 450 MHz INTEL Pentium III
Display card Integrated Graphics Card A 3d graphics card with a minimum of 16 MB Ram
Driver CD-ROM CD-ROM
Operating System Windows 98(No WindowsNT) Windows ME / 2000 / XP

In addition,,Ballance is largely incompatible with the configuration of today's computers. As a result, the runtime often fails to perform as well as computers do today,This resulted in Cottonwood, frame dropping, and other serious bugsBUG。If you want to optimize the performance of Ballance, see Ballance optimization:Ballance的优化

机关

In order to make the level more challenging, more playable, more interesting, Ballance provides a large number of organs props. In the process of making a map, the clever collocation of these organs can greatly affect a level of the game experience and map quality. In particular,The internal program mechanism of Extra Point and Extra Life is the same as that of other organs, so they are generally regarded as organs.

Game loopholes and level design issues

主条目: Ballance漏洞

Ballance has many bugs like other games. They can be harmful, causing the game to crash and frightening the player due to the sudden appearance; they can also be beneficial to the progress of the game and are recognized for use in racing.

In addition, due to the mistakes of the creators during the production of the original level map, the ball may be stuck in some cases, unable to move or completely unable to continue the game. They are:

  • 欲死不能 The player's ball is stuck in a certain area and cannot commit suicide or escape. Without a suicide device, the player has to restart the game.
  • 欲生不能 Players can't pass the game if they change the wrong ball attributes, and the map logic design error makes it impossible to change the ball attributes even after suicide and rebirth. They can only restart the game.

玩家群体

At present, only Ballance吧 founded by 相关QQ群 and Baryo is active in China(Another previously active forum, 中国Ballance联盟, has been shut down. But a less active forum has been set up Ballance Resources)。There are various forums scattered internationally,Among them, only the Discord服务器 established by BearKidsTeam is more active and can receive more game resources。On the left side of this page, there is a "Related Website" column to access these discussion sites.。
