In the [[original levels]], apart from the intentional gheto in level 12 section 7, ghetos are usually a form of shortcuts. However, in [[custom maps]], ghetos may be the intended solution, and this can increase the difficulty of the level.
Ghetos are often used in [[speedrun]]s, and the most well known are the "'''Three Great Ghetos" ''' (referring to the 3-1, 9-1, and 11-1 ghetos).
